Meeting in Singapore: what it costs, and what the evening looks like.

What a two-day regional conference in Singapore costs, with the 2025 average room rate, a published meeting package, GST, and evenings at Gardens by the Bay and the Night Safari.

The brief this is written for

One hundred and fifty delegates from across Asia-Pacific, a two-day regional conference with plenary and four breakout streams, a welcome reception and a closing dinner. Three nights, Marina Bay or Orchard.

Singapore is where Asia-Pacific meets when nobody wants to argue about the location. Direct flights from every regional capital, English as the working language, a convention district at Marina Bay and a hotel district on Orchard Road, and evenings that need no explanation to a delegate from anywhere. It is not cheap, but the numbers are published and stable, which is what a conference budget needs.

The tourism board reports an average room rate of about S$274 for 2025 with occupancy near 82%, and the city's hotels publish meeting packages per person marked plus-plus, meaning a 10% service charge and 9% GST are added. The table below sets those figures next to the official admission prices for the two evenings in this itinerary.

A two-day itinerary

How the days run.

Meeting hours, transfers and evenings as a sourcing desk would lay them out. Named venues link to their own pages; times are typical, not booked.

Day 1: arrivals and a garden reception

  1. Afternoon

    Changi to Marina Bay

Changi is twenty to thirty minutes from Marina Bay by taxi or coach, and the airport's MRT link reaches the bay with one change. For a hundred and fifty arrivals over an afternoon, a hospitality desk at the airport and coaches every hour is the arrangement conference hotels price as a matter of course.

  2. 18:30

Welcome reception at Gardens by the Bay

The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest conservatories take private evening events, and the Supertree Grove light show at 7:45 and 8:45 is free to watch from the lawn. Standard admission to the two conservatories is published; a private-hire reception is quoted by the Gardens' events team.

Day 2: the conference, then the SkyPark

  1. 08:30 to 17:30

    Plenary and four breakout streams

Singapore hotels quote a full-day meeting package per person that includes the room, two refreshment breaks and lunch, plus-plus. With four breakout streams, ask for the package to cover the plenary and the breakout rooms together, and for the audio-visual to be quoted as a fixed line.

  2. 18:30

    Sands SkyPark observation deck

The deck on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands looks over the bay, the Gardens and the port, and takes a group in a timed slot before dinner. Tickets are sold online by the resort.

  3. 20:00

Dinner at a hawker centre, or in the hotel ballroom

Lau Pa Sat, the Victorian cast-iron market in the financial district, becomes an open-air satay street in the evening and can be booked for group seating; it costs a fraction of a ballroom dinner and is the meal delegates mention. The closing dinner on the last night is the one to hold in the ballroom.

Day 3: closing session and the Night Safari

  1. 09:00 to 15:00

    Closing plenary and lunch

Ask the hotel for a half-day package with lunch for the final day rather than a second full day; most publish one, and the saving on a hundred and fifty people is real.

  2. 19:15

    Night Safari

The world's first nocturnal zoo, forty minutes north of the city by coach, with a tram ride through the habitats included in the ticket. Admission is published and inclusive of GST; groups can book a private tram.

What the table leaves out, and why

  • The Sands SkyPark price is shown only inside the resort's ticket shop, which did not respond to our reader on the day we checked; the itinerary links the official page.
  • Five-star meeting packages at Marina Bay and on Orchard Road are published as plus-plus figures well above the four-star example; we found none whose page we could read on the day, so the table shows the one we could verify.
  • A private evening hire of a conservatory or a hawker-centre seating block is quoted per event and not published.

Questions

Budgeting a meeting in Singapore

What buyers ask about the cost side of this city. The venue detail is on the destination page.

What does plus-plus add to a Singapore quote?
A 10% service charge and then 9% GST on the total, so a package at S$150++ costs about S$180 per person. Ask every hotel to quote nett, or state that the auction runs on nett prices, so the comparison holds.
Marina Bay or Orchard Road for a regional conference?
Marina Bay for a hundred and fifty people who need a ballroom, the convention centre next door and the bay evenings on foot. Orchard Road for smaller meetings that want shopping and restaurants at the door and a lower rate. Both are on the MRT; the difference is walking distance to the evening programme.
When are Singapore rates highest?
The Formula 1 weekend in September and the largest trade shows, when citywide occupancy and rates spike and hotels apply minimum stays. The rest of the year is unusually even, because the climate does not change; June and July, when Europe and North America travel elsewhere, are often the softest weeks for group rates.
