Sydney hotels quote a day delegate package that is broadly comparable, and a residential total that is not, because bedroom rates swing with events at the ICC, cruise arrivals and the Harbour's leisure calendar. GST is normally included, but surcharges for weekends and public holidays appear in the fine print.
How Sydney hotels quote
Day delegate packages per person in Australian dollars, inclusive of 10% GST in most quotes. Weekend and public-holiday surcharges on catering and labour are common and vary by hotel. We fix them into the package so no offer wins by hiding them.
We fix all of that into one per-person package, in AUD, before any hotel quotes. Hotels then compete on a number that means the same thing in every offer, and the rank you see is the rank of what you would actually pay.
Vivid Sydney in late May and June, New Year's Eve and the January summer holidays fill the Harbour. ICC conferences take out Darling Harbour for a week at a time. The financial year end in June is busy for corporate meetings. Late July to early September is the corporate value window.

For a meeting of 20 to 120 people the largest ballroom is rarely the right room; the number of meeting rooms tells you more about breakout capacity.

We invite properties that match the brief on capacity, standard and location, including any you name. A round needs at least three comparable offers to open.
Hotels see their own rank and the price to beat, never each other. Prices can only fall. You award on best value and are under no obligation if nothing fits.
