What a two-day regional meeting in Bangkok costs, with published hotel meeting packages, the average room rate, and an evening on the Chao Phraya river.
The brief this is written for

Bangkok is where a regional meeting costs least for what the group gets. Five-star hotels along Sukhumvit and by the river quote full-day meeting packages at a level that would be a coffee break elsewhere, the ballrooms are large, and the service is why delegates say yes to the invitation. The city's average room rate in the first half of 2025 was a little over 4,000 baht.
The convention here is simple and worth knowing before the quotes arrive: meeting packages are quoted per person and marked plus-plus, meaning a 10% service charge and 7% VAT are added on top, unless the hotel says net. The table below gives one published full-day package, the official admission to the Grand Palace, and a river dinner price, each with its source.

Afternoon
From Suvarnabhumi to the hotel
The Airport Rail Link runs to Phaya Thai for the Skytrain in under half an hour, but for eighty people arriving across the afternoon a coach shuttle every two hours from the airport is the standard arrangement, and the hotel will price it.

Dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya
The dinner boats leave from the River City or ICONSIAM piers for about two hours past the lit temples and the Grand Palace. A group of eighty can take a deck or, on the larger boats, the whole vessel; the Chao Phraya Princess publishes its per-person buffet price.

Full-day meeting package
A Bangkok full-day package normally covers the room from morning to late afternoon, two coffee breaks and lunch, with a minimum of about ten participants. Ask for the price net of service charge and VAT so that every hotel's number is on the same basis.

Gala dinner in the hotel ballroom
Thai hotels quote gala dinners per person for a set or buffet menu, with a separate charge for free-flow drinks. The ballroom comes free or heavily discounted when the group's rooms and meeting are in the same hotel; make that a condition of the brief.

The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew
Open from 8:30, and cooler and emptier in the first hour. The official admission for foreign visitors covers the palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles. Shoulders and knees covered, or the gate turns people away.
Evening, for those staying on
Muay Thai at Rajadamnern Stadium
The oldest boxing stadium in the country runs fight nights with tiered seating from second class to ringside and a VIP lounge. Tickets are sold on the stadium's own site; prices vary by card and seat.
